He studied in Guinea at the University Gamal Abdel Nasser of Conakry where he obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science and Statistics Applied for Enterprise (MISAE) before receiving a scholarship for postgraduate studies in France. He has a Master’s degree in Statistics and Business Intelligence from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse.

Professional life:

He joined the Abidjan Visa CEMEA office in December 2017 after a transit respectively at the Caisse d’Epargne Midi-Pyénées as Trainee Analyst at the Risk Department and Ecobank Guinea as Business Solutions Manager and 7 years with the United Bank Africa Group.

At Caisse d’Epargne, Kandas built a Counterparty Risk Analysis tool to enable the bank to control and respect the limits by sector, type, country, etc. imposed by the Bank of France.

At Ecobank Guinea, Kandas automated manual processes for transaction processing and data analysis for decision making.

Its success has been reflected in its redeployment to the Group’s headquarters to coordinate sales and support the development of all payment and collection products for all African subsidiaries with the exception of Nigeria. This has resulted in winning big mandates in several countries.

In August 2015, he was appointed head of digital banking for French-speaking countries and thus found himself in charge of all digital products.

In January 2017, he was added the portfolio of consumer products, which made him the Director of consumer products and digital banking for French-speaking countries.

During his redeployment at the Group headquarter in November 2012, the performance of all subsidiaries in Africa increased considerably. He received several congratulatory letters from the Management of the UBA Group.

Kandas was then approached by Visa CEMEA to lead the acceptance for the West and Central Africa for Francophone and Lusophone areas, a position he is holding since December 2017.
